Terms of use

Purpose

RUMIVO is a daily prediction game: every day, the whole world answers one binary-choice question, and each player predicts the percentage of players who will choose the same as them. These terms govern the use of the service available at rumivo.app.

Access to the service

The service is free.

• See today's question and vote — no account needed.
• Set your prediction — no account needed.
• Lock in your prediction, and have a score, a streak and a rank — requires an account, created in one tap via Google sign-in.

Minimum age

Using RUMIVO is reserved for people aged 13 and over (16 in jurisdictions that require it). By using the service, you confirm you meet that requirement.

The rules of the game

The essential rules, summarized here; the full, up-to-date version stays available from the "How it works" screen in the app.

• One question per game day, the same for the whole world at the same time — no local time zone.
• A vote and a locked prediction are final and cannot be changed.
• How the votes split stays secret until the simultaneous worldwide reveal.
• Your score depends on how close your prediction was to the real result, following a scale shown in the game.
• Your day streak advances with every locked prediction, whatever your score.

Your account

An account can only be created via Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. An account is meant for a single player; creating multiple accounts to game the leaderboard or the results is prohibited (see the next section).

Prohibited behavior

The following threaten the integrity of the world result, which is what RUMIVO exists for:

• Creating or using more than one account for the same player.
• Using a script, bot, or any automated means to vote, predict, or guess.
• Trying to bypass the server's time checks to vote or predict after a question has closed.
• Trying to access how the votes split on a question before it's revealed.
• Any attempt to manipulate the official result of the game.

Enforcement

If you breach these rules, we may suspend or block your account, exclude its votes and predictions from the official result, and remove it from the leaderboards, without notice and without entitlement to compensation. A result that's already been published is never recalculated, even if fraud is discovered afterward.

Service availability

We do our best to keep the service continuously available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted uptime. If an incident threatens a result's integrity — for example a leak of how the votes split before the reveal — that day's question may be cancelled: no score is awarded for it, and streaks in progress are preserved.

Editorial content

The questions published on RUMIVO are written by the publisher. They're designed to be appropriate for all audiences and never include adult content.

Intellectual property

The RUMIVO name, the editorial content of the questions, and the service's software belong to the publisher or its licensors. Any unauthorized reproduction or reuse is prohibited.

Changes or discontinuation of the service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time. If we discontinue it permanently, we'll let you know with reasonable notice where possible.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for service interruptions, data loss, or any indirect damage arising from its use.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or the law. The version that applies is the one published on this page, whose last-updated date is shown at the top.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute over their interpretation or performance falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may give you access to the courts of your place of residence.
